Arrest Made in Major South Bay Burglary Case

The Campbell Police Department has made an arrest in a recent south bay burglary that left a local salon, Goddess Hair Bar, facing $100,000 in damages and losses. The incident, which occurred last month, involved the theft of merchandise and significant property damage at the business.

Suspect Identified and Detained

Authorities identified 46-year-old Daniel Jermain White as a suspect in the break-in. White is believed to be one of two men involved in the burglary. Police located White using license plate readers and a stolen vehicle, leading to his eventual arrest.

Evidence Recovered from Suspect

During the search of White’s residence and personal belongings, Campbell Police uncovered several items directly connected to the crime. These included packaged hair extensions labeled with the victim's handwriting, indicating their origin from Goddess Hair Bar. In addition to the stolen property, officers discovered methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and other evidence pointing to criminal activity.

“Thanks to license plate readers and his stolen car, we were able to track him,” said Campbell Police Captain Ian White. The presence of items from the business, along with narcotics and related materials, supported the charges against the suspect.

Organized Crime and Ongoing Investigation

Investigators suspect that the burglary may be part of broader organized crime activity. Authorities are examining links to other recent offenses in the area, based on further evidence seized at White’s residence. The case remains open as police continue their crime investigation.

“He was in possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and packaged hair extensions with the victim’s handwriting,” Captain White stated, emphasizing the direct connection to the burglary and possible links to further criminal activity.

Salon Owner Reacts and Recovery Efforts

Owner of Goddess Hair Bar, Segen Gedam, expressed surprise and some relief upon learning of the arrest and the partial return of stolen property. “I am shocked that I got something back and they made an arrest,” Gedam shared. However, she noted that the amount recovered was only a small portion of the overall loss, stating, “I got back around $300 worth of stolen property. It’s not nearly close to all that was lost, but it’s something.”

Search Continues for Second Suspect

While an arrest has been made, Campbell Police are still working to identify and capture the second individual seen in surveillance video from the night of the burglary. Police urge anyone with information related to the case to come forward as the search continues.

The investigation highlights the use of technology such as license plate readers in aiding law enforcement and the ongoing challenges facing businesses impacted by organized crime, theft, and property damage.
